Roztoky 2026 and Honza Peštál’s Perspective

On May 8, the traditional Elegance Competition took place in Roztoky u Prahy, marking its 47th edition this year. As I mentioned last year,
I go there almost every year, so I couldn’t miss it this year either. The event was a success once again, and especially so for us, fans of the red machines.
After lean years when only one or two Indians dared to show up, five of us gathered there this year. It may seem like a small number, but I see it as great progress.
Also missing from the group photo are Pavel Prošek, who opted for a car this year, and Ondra Škoda, whose bike is currently out of commission.
However, we were joined by Mr. Jiří-Jonáš Drábek, the happy owner of a 101 with a sidecar, just before the ride began.
The weather was on our side; Jonáš brought his guitars, we jammed a bit, and greeted old friends. The mood was excellent, and so the day flew by.
What can I say in conclusion? A nice event with a long tradition. I don’t think any of the visitors or participants were bored.
All that’s left is to hope that at least as many of us will gather next year as we did this year.
